Going live on Insight Timer allows you to inspire and build a loyal community in real time. Promotional Cards are a great tool to spotlight your offerings at the exact moment when your audience is more engaged.
Overview
Promotional Cards allow you to feature specific offerings directly in the Live Event chat, similar to Instagram or TikTok live shopping. When you post a card, attendees can interact with it without leaving your session.
Types of Promotional Cards
Card Type | Description |

Teacher Profile | Displays your photo, name, location, follower count, and Follow button. |
Donation | Prompts users to donate during your event. |
Retreats | Highlights retreat details and links users to learn more or get an email about your retreat. |
Live Events | Displays an upcoming Live Event you will be hosting. |
Free Tracks (coming soon) | Displays track photo, title, and duration. |
Premium Tracks | Displays track photo, title, and duration with options to Save/Download (for subscribers) or Subscribe to MemberPlus (for non-subscribers). |
Courses | Displays course photo, title, and duration with options to Save/Download (for subscribers) or Subscribe to MemberPlus (for non-subscribers). |
Earn More by Sharing Promotional Cards for Premium Tracks and Courses
For every new paid subscriber who joins through one of your promotional cards, you’ll receive a US$10 thank-you payment. These earnings will be reflected in your monthly statement and included in your regular payout.
How Do I Set Up Promotional Cards?
You can set up Promotional Cards in advance before your Live Event, or add them on the go while you’re hosting.
Method 1: Before Your Live Event
- Go to the Live events tab in your Teacher Dashboard
- Select the “Promotional Cards” button in the top right corner
- Click “Add Promotional Card.”
- Choose the type of offering you'd like to promote (Profile, Courses, Donations, etc.) and search for the specific content you want to share
- Click “Add” and you're done!

Method 2: During Your Live Event
You can also search for and create Promotional Cards on the fly during a Live Event. This is especially handy if attendees ask for specific recommendations during your events.
Instructions for how to do this are provided in the section below.
How do I use my Promotional Cards during a Live Event?
To share a card with your attendees:
- Click the Promotional Card button next to the chat (shopping bag icon).
- The Promotional Cards you set up in the Teacher Dashboard will automatically appear here.
- Select the card you want to share, then click “Post Card” to display it during your live event.
- The card will be posted into the event's chat and will be shown to users:
The card will continue displaying to users until the teacher clicks on the X (top right corner of the card) to remove the card.
Please note:
a. If you’d like to show cards back to back, you can simply select a new card — it will automatically replace the one currently being displayed.
b. Only one card can be shown at a time.
c. Important: You’ll need to manually remove the card when you’re done with it. Otherwise, it will continue to appear in the chat for your audience.
Creating a Promotional Card During Your Live Event
If you’d like to show a Promotional Card that you didn’t add in advance, you can use the search bar at the top right of the Promo Card selection screen to find and post it during your live session.
- Type in a search term.
- Select a card from the list, and click “Select card.”
- The card will then be posted in the live event chat.
Tip: The Promotional Card button is available in the hosting interface before you start your Live Event. This gives you the chance to preview and test your cards ahead of going live.
