Why Isn't Insight Timer Showing Up in My iOS Health App?

Enable Insight Timer in your Apple Health app

Insight Timer can track your mindfulness practice and sync your meditation session data to Apple Health, where it appears as Mindful Minutes. If Insight Timer isn't showing up in your iOS Health app, you need to enable Apple Health integration in two places: first within the Insight Timer app itself, and second in your device's iOS settings.


Enable Apple Health in the Insight Timer app

Start by turning on Apple Health integration within the Insight Timer app on your device:


  1. Open the Insight Timer app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Settings.
  4. Go to Account & Privacy.
  5. Tap Apple Health.
  6. Toggle on Apple Health Mindful Minutes to allow Insight Timer to sync with Apple Health.


Enable Insight Timer in your iOS device settings

Next, authorize Insight Timer to write your meditation data to Apple Health in your device's system settings. This permission is separate from the app setting:


  1. Open your iPhone or iPad Settings app.
  2. Navigate to Health.
  3. Tap Data Access & Devices.
  4. Tap Insight Timer in the list of apps with Health access.
  5. Toggle on Mindful Minutes to allow Insight Timer to write meditation data to your Apple Health app.


Once both settings are enabled, Insight Timer will begin syncing your mindfulness and meditation session data to Apple Health automatically. The next time you complete a meditation session in Insight Timer, that time will be recorded as Mindful Minutes in your Health app.


Troubleshooting if Insight Timer still doesn't appear


If Insight Timer doesn't appear in the Health section of your iOS settings after enabling Apple Health in the app, try these troubleshooting steps in order:


  • Log out of Insight Timer completely.
  • Restart your device by turning it off and back on.
  • Log back into Insight Timer with your account credentials.
  • Ensure your iOS software is up to date by going to Settings > General > Software Update and installing any available updates.
