Adding a virtual background to your Live Event can help you create the right ambiance. Here are two ways to do this:
USING OBS + PHYSICAL GREEN SCREEN
This option is for teachers who want to add a virtual background. Since it’s not a built-in feature in our platform, we will need to use third-party software like OBS and Zoom. This option is only for computers.
We only need to use OBS if you have a physical green screen. If not, we will need to use the virtual background feature from Zoom and capture it in OBS.
Here are the applications we will need to use:
- Zoom. Download here.
- OBS. Download here.
- For Windows, you'd have to download the OBS VirtualCam plugin. For MacOS, it should already be built in. If ever your OBS still doesn’t show a Start Virtual Camera button at the bottom right under the Controls dock, go to this link to download the plugin.
Note: Using Zoom, OBS, and livestreaming at the same time might be too taxing for some computers. The recommended RAM is at least 8GB. OBS is a free third-party software. If you'll encounter issues using it, it's best to check their help page here.
