How Can I Engage With My Course Students?

Every course on Insight Timer has a classroom where students ask questions and share reflections. Here's how to build strong relationships with your students and grow your course.

The Course Classroom

Your course classroom is an interactive space where community members discuss the course content and ask you questions as they progress. It's one of the most valuable tools for building trust and keeping students engaged.

How Often Should You Respond?

We recommend dedicating around 15 minutes a day to respond to course questions and reviews—especially during the first two weeks after your course launches. Early engagement significantly boosts your course's long-term success and helps students feel supported in their learning journey.

How to Reply in the Course Classroom

You can respond via text or audio. Audio replies create a more personal connection with students and are especially effective. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your Teacher Dashboard
  2. Click the Courses tab on the left
  3. Select the course you want to check
  4. Sort by Newest Replies to see the most recent questions
  5. Once you see a question or comment, choose how you'd like to reply

Reply Options

Using AI Suggestions: The dashboard offers AI-generated response suggestions to course questions. You can review, edit, and approve them to ensure accuracy before sending.

Text Reply: Write your response directly in the text box.

Audio Reply: Click the microphone button to record an audio response. Follow the on-screen prompts to ensure quality recording. You can also record separately and upload the file. Tap Submit Recording when you're done.

Get Notified of New Comments

You'll receive notifications on your Teacher Dashboard and via email whenever a community member posts a new question in your course classroom. This helps you stay on top of engagement.

Course Classroom Etiquette

Keep the course classroom a positive, focused space for learning. Here's what we ask:

Stay on Topic: The classroom is for course-related questions and reflections.

No Off-Platform Promotion: Don't promote external resources, products, services, websites, books, social media, retreats, email newsletters, or other courses. This includes sharing PDF resources or requesting personal data from students. Insight Timer is designed as a quiet, focused space for community members to deepen their practice—and teachers earn income by providing thoughtful engagement on the platform.

Encourage Genuine Engagement: We celebrate thoughtful, authentic interactions with your students. However, we don't reward artificial engagement tactics designed to artificially boost comment counts, plays, or reviews.

Stay Compliant

We reserve the right to unpublish courses that don't follow these guidelines. If you have questions or need clarification, contact us at publishers@insighttimer.com.
