How Do Administrators and Moderators Manage Group Roles and Permissions?

Groups on Insight Timer are managed collaboratively by Administrators and Moderators. The community members you bring together thrive when there's clear leadership.


How Group Roles Work

The person who creates a Group automatically becomes an Administrator and oversees the overall management of the Group. Moderators help supervise activities and maintain a positive, supportive environment for all community members.


How to Assign Administrator or Moderator Permissions

If you're an Administrator, follow these steps:


  1. Tap the menu icon (≡).
  2. Tap Groups.
  3. Open the Group you manage.
  4. Tap the member thumbnails below the Group name.
  5. Select the member's profile photo.
  6. Choose Make Moderator or Make Admin.


Important Permission Note

Only Administrators can assign new Administrators or Moderators. This helps ensure your Group stays organized and maintains community standards.
